During our normal update process one of the steps related to updating the database did not go as normal. Upon discovering this issue we immediately rolled back the update but this issue caused intermittent inaccessibility during the deployment and rollback. To ensure this issue does not recur in the future we've added an additional step to our update process to first check that the database update will happen smoothly prior to release.
